I experienced the same issue, My expresscard parrallel port was recognized by WS 12.1.1 and driver was installed properly but with 12.5 it is not. I will try your solution and let you know.

Thanks

Hi,

Anjani_Kumar, Have you been able to solve this?

I'm also having this issue with my ESXi 5.5.0 3116895 on "7870D3A IBM BladeCenter H22"@

Thanks

Re: Failed to deploy VIO 3.0 HA Mode

Hi,

Did you ssh to the two vm  before?

Maybe you can clean the .ssh/know_hosts, and increase the timeout, and try again.

/var/lib/vio/ansible/site.yml

edit line:

  tasks:

    - name: Verify SSH connectivity with every VIO node

      local_action: wait_for port=22 host="{{ inventory_hostname }}" search_regex=OpenSSH delay=3

Add timeout parameters to the task(default value is 300),  for example:

  tasks:

    - name: Verify SSH connectivity with every VIO node

      local_action: wait_for port=22 host="{{ inventory_hostname }}" search_regex=OpenSSH delay=3 timeout=600

Best Regards

Adam

Re: Is there a way to perform a mass logon operation on multiple (>50) Windows VMs that are joined to a domain ?

Is there any plan that DLR can support configure multiple IP addresses on each LIF?

We have VNF application on NSX platform. It has multiple VMs work as line cards. The network planes that each VM connect to are same.

The same plane on different VM can not set the same subnet IP address, for the VNF application is based on router architecture.

But the LIF of DLR can only set one IP address, so it can not connect to all the line cards VM of application.

Of cause, ESG can support this, but if we use ESG, then the east-west traffic will have to be sent to ESG, it will consume the north-south bandwidth. We don't want this happen.

So if DLR's LIF can support multiple IP addresses and ECMP, we'll be very happy. ^_^

Re: Distributed switches and Standard switches co-exist?

1. If I create a new distributed vSwitch for the new vmnics, what happens to the other ESXi hosts that do not have the newly added vmnics? Will it cause issues to other hosts?

While creating the new vDS, add only the hosts that have available vmnic, otherwise if a host do not have any available vmnic to be used by the vDS, this host will not able to connect to networks outside of the host.

2. If i create a new standard vSwitch on host-a instead, does it cause any issues since it's already using distributed vSwitches? that is, can a host use both Distributed and Standard vSwitches at the same time?

You can have standard and distributed switches on the same host without problems, but take in mind that a vmnic cannot be shared between switches. See: dvSwitch? - Yellow Bricks

Script to take host in maintenance mode after an alert from idrac

$

Hi All,

I observed for PSOD, other hardware issue on the Dell server before it goes for sudden reboot or PSOD idrac logs general alert logs.

I was thinking if we can made a script based on predefined idrac log and check if the idrac get predefined alert it should immediately take the host in maintenance mode. These way we can save our VM to get rebooted after HA.

Do any one already using such script ,

Thanks a ton in advance.

I wasn't able to reproduce your problem after using 2 separate resource bundles.  Since I am using slightly newer code I recommend that you try again with Fling 5 to be released this week and let me know if it this doesn't work. Thanks!

And what if you just run "<cd-drive>:\setup.exe -v  ADDLOCAL=ALL REBOOT=R" from the command line?

Try to update or reset sensors on "Hardware Status" tab in vCenter.

Or run the below command on your ESXi: services.sh restart

Plugin Registration Failed to deploy/download for vSphere 6.5

Plugin Registration Failure.

Issue: Registration of vSphere plugin with vCenter Server – Failure in deployment:

vSphere Web Client Version: 6.5.0 Build 4240472

Steps Taken:

  1. Register the plugin with vSphere vCenter server using extension manager API registerExtension()
  2. Set the certificate thumbprint at the time of registration, the certificate is encrypted using SHA1 encryption.
  3. The registration passed, and the plugin package is visible in the mob extension manager.
  4. Re-login to vSphere web client, the package is not visible.
  5. Virgo logs indicates that the download of the package failed with the error “Certificates does not conform to algorithm constraints”.

Hi All,

Do we have a way to find the vCenter hosted server details based on a license key?

We have the license key, but we are not sure of the server details.

Thanks in Advance.
